Easy Timer Plus

With Easy Timer Plus installed on your Windows-powered machine, you can have a floating clock on your desktop or you can have a large clock that’s displayed smack in the middle of the desktop. You can also use the application to set up alarms; at a specified time the application will play a notification sound, run a program, or shut down the computer.

To get started with Easy Timer Plus you must first get a 335KB archive onto your machine; the good news here is that a download that’s less than 1MB in size will complete in a blink. Easy Timer Plus is portable, so the further good news is that you don’t have to go through an installation process, you need only run the executable inside the archive.

When you launch Easy Timer Plus, a floating window that displays an analog clock will show up on the desktop. You can take that floating window and place it anywhere you want. You will also notice an Easy Timer Plus icon in the system tray. Right click the floating window or the system tray icon to be presented with more options, like the “Open settings” option or the “Presets” option.

There are several presets to choose from: Default (nothing changes, you continue to view the floating Easy Timer Plus window), Large desktop clock (a large clock is displayed in the middle of the screen), Small, left, on top (a small floating Easy Timer Plus window is displayed in the left hand corner of the screen; it stays on top of other windows), and Hibernate silently (hides Easy Timer Plus out of sight).

You can set alarms with Easy Timer Plus in one of two ways: either by right clicking the desktop window or system tray icon and selecting “Set Alarm”, or by double clicking the Easy Timer Plus window. From the Settings menu you can choose what the alarm does. You can keep things simple and let the alarm play a sound (it must be mentioned here that you can choose between a large variety of sounds and that you can pick a sound of your own; MP3, WMA, and OGG formats are supported), or you can set it up so an automatic action takes place when the alarm goes off. You can get Easy Timer Plus to display a message, run a program, enable sleep or hibernation mode, shut down the computer, or exit.

Please note that the trial version of Easy Timer Plus comes with the following limitations: there’s a watermark on the clock and the maximum alarm time is limited to 5 minutes.

Easy Timer Plus provides a very handy means of staying on top of the time. The application is superior to the default Windows clock as far as looks and functionality are concerned.
